Third grade students celebrate the annual Cajun Day Mass.
Cajun Day is celebrated each year in appreciation of our Cajun heritage and culture. This celebration is both educational and fun. Mini workshops expose students to the arts, music, stories, trades, food, and dance of the Cajun people of today and yesterday. Participants include parents, grandparents, and community presenters of the Cajun ancestry and culture.
Kindergarten Nativity
Kindergarten students present The Nativity Story during the Advent Season to both HRCS and to the community. This play has become a tradition that is enjoyed by both the school family and the community.
Social Studies Fair - Fourth through eighth grade students are required to submit a Social Studies Fair project in late January. Historically, HRCS students merit outstanding achievement at parish, regional, and state levels.
Geography Bee - Annually students in fourth through eighth grade participate in a Geography Bee. The Geography Bee, sponsored by the National Geographic Society, is designed to enhance and bring a greater awareness to the study of geography. HRCS students have achieved local and state recognition on numerous events. |
