Mission Statement Holy Rosary Catholic School was originally commissioned by the Sisters of the Immaculate Conception in 1963. The school provides academic excellence and a moral foundation which instills a passion to model lives after Jesus Christ. The school is owned by Our Lady of the Rosary Parish and serves children from Pre K through eighth grade from Our Lady of the Rosary Parish, its sister parishes of Sacred Heart, St. Joseph, Our Lady of Prompt Succor, Our Lady of the Isle and anyone who accepts its philosophy and mission. The school ministers to each student’s uniqueness through structured devotion, expanded curriculum, and offers students the opportunity to reach their potential in a safe Christian environment. Holy Rosary Catholic School is an uplifting spiritual force in the lives of its students, families, and communities. Philosophy Holy Rosary Catholic School is a learning institution of Early Childhood through eighth grade that strives to take its meaning and purpose from the role and mission of the Church. Its goals include teaching the message of Christ, building a community through which the message can be lived, and making these truths the basis of service to others. The Holy Rosary Catholic School community recognizes the responsibility of instilling in students a love for the Church, knowledge of her teachings, and faithfulness to her practices. We believe that the purpose of Holy Rosary Catholic School is to spread the Good News of our salvation through Jesus Christ as we nurture the child to his/her fullest potential. Each individual child’s needs, ideals, and goals are recognized. Holy Rosary Catholic School guides and encourages each child to grow as Christ grew so he/she may function and serve his/her community as a Christian and as an effective, well-educated citizen. The teachers and staff of Holy Rosary Catholic School work toward being good Christian role models exemplifying Christian ideals. Teachers and staff strive to make the school environment intellectually stimulating and love-filled so each child will experience self-worth and that the opportunity to learn is present. Teachers recognize that they must commit themselves to their spiritual, intellectual, and emotional growth in order to effectively minister to their students. We believe that the students of Holy Rosary Catholic School should desire to develop to the highest degree their talents, skills, and abilities in order to acquire knowledge which will help them accept God’s will in their lives. We believe that parents of Holy Rosary Catholic School, as first and primary teachers, recognize the depth of the Christian foundation that they have laid in their children. We believe that parents pledge their support to the administration, faculty, and staff of Holy Rosary Catholic School because of their commitment to Christian values and Catholic education. The Holy Rosary Catholic School Family accepts the challenge that has been set for it as a Catholic school and a community of faith. We acknowledge that our mission comes from the light of Christ. With God’s divine help, we will lead our school family to that light and that through Him all things are possible. This philosophy is a reflection of the attitudes and goals expressed in the Declaration on the Christian Education, a document of Vatican II dated October 28., 1965, and in To Teach as Jesus Did, a Pastoral Message on Catholic Education from the United States Bishops dated November, 1972. This philosophy was reviewed and revised within the 2003 – 2004 school year by the faculty and staff of HRCS. It was approved and adapted by the Advisory Council within the same year.
