Principal's Monthly Message

Dear Parents, Grandparents and Friends,

Catholic Schools Week is coming up at the end of January and is one of the highlights of the year at Holy Rosary Catholic School. We’ve planned a variety of activities for students, families and community members, and we hope you’ll join us as we celebrate what makes Catholic education unique. Our schedule of events will be posted on edline with details of the week’s festivities.

This year’s theme is “Catholic Schools: Faith, Academics, Service.” In just three words, this theme expresses what Catholic schools are all about. We teach our students faith, not just the basics of Christianity, but how to have a relationship with God. We hold them to high academic standards and do everything we can to help students reach their full potential. We also teach them how to serve, both as a way to express their faith and to become good citizens.

Here at HRCS, we are proud to offer an education that is distinctive among educational institutions in our community. We are excited to have the opportunity during Catholic Schools Week to share what our students are learning and what they have accomplished. I hope to see you and your family at some of our events. Please bring your friends and neighbors, particularly those who may be considering Catholic education for their own children.

Also, please join me in saying thank you to those who help make Holy Rosary Catholic School a success: our teachers, staff, administrators, council members, parents and volunteers. Through their dedication and commitment, our students are learning in a culture of faith, academics and service that is preparing them for a full life in their families, communities and the Catholic Church.

Devotedly yours in Christ

Mr. B

Ms Liz Summers

2010 Diocesan Inspirational Teacher-Runner Up

HRCS is very proud to announce that Ms Liz Summers, Pre K 3 teacher, was recently named 2010 HRCS Inspirational Teacher of the Year. Additionally, on 9/19/2010, she was named the DIOCESAN INSPIRATIONAL TEACHER OF THE YEAR RUNNER UP! This past spring, every school within the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux was asked to submit nominations for this award. School staff, parents, students and former students wrote letters of recommendation to the Council of Catholic Co-operative Clubs [CCSCC]. From these recommendations came this years’ winners. Ms Liz also won a cash award from CCSCC.
