STEWARDSHIP:

· ANNUAL FUND CAMPAIGN: The Annual Fund Campaign is a year-long stewardship opportunity which assists in funding the school budget. Currently it provides approximately 25% of funding. This year’s goal is $100,000. A donation can be made directly from Credit Card.

· PLANNED GIVING: A planned gift is one which is legally established during the donor’s lifetime with the principal benefits generally not accruing to the Catholic school until some future date. These gifts include bequest, life insurance, charitable gift annuities, pooled income funds, real property and charitable trusts.

· MATCHING GIFTS: Donations of employees or participating retirees of a company or corporation with a matching gifts program may qualify to be matched by the company. Check with the employer to find out if HRCS qualifies as a benefactor.

· UNITED WAY: HRCS has recently been approved and is listed in the Donor Option Program from United Way for South Louisiana. UW sends HRCS funds semi-annually less administrative fees.

· BUSINESS GIFTS: Businesses, which make gifts, can receive tax deductions for donating inventory, equipment, materials and service as well as cash.

· LIFE INSURANCE: A legacy in a donor’s name can be made by designating Holy Rosary School as owner and beneficiary of the life insurance policy; check with insurance agent and tax advisor about this.

· WILLS & BEQUESTS: Including Holy Rosary Catholic School in one’s will is an excellent manner of providing a lasting testimony to generosity of spirit and dedication to education in the Catholic Christian context HRCS offers.

· MEMORIAL DONATIONS: Following the death of loved ones, several families have offered their friends and families the opportunity to name HRCS as a benefactor in memory of their deceased loved one. HRCS has received several generous contributions in their memory. Our students and staff greatly benefit from these donations. Families of the deceased member are reassured of our prayers and appreciation. Annually, memorial intentions are included in the Spring Donor Appreciation Mass as our expression of gratitude.

· TARGET OFFERS PERCENTAGE BACK: Target is one of many companies that have a community giving program for not-profit schools such as ours. Target allows customers who use either their Visa or Target charge cards to designate the school of their choice to receive 1% of their purchase to be directed to that school. Sign up by calling 1-800-316-6142. Our school’s registration # is 7605. If you don’t NOW have a Target or VISA, but get one LATER, you can sign up then.

· GIFTS-IN-KIND: Several supporters give equipment, supplies, service and other items to the school in lieu of monetary donations.

· COUPONS, LABELS ETC.: The Library collects labels, coupons and upc symbols that are reimbursed by companies for either cash or equipment for schools. For details see HRCS Library.
